The formula
Tons = (Length ft × Width ft × (Depth in ÷ 12) ÷ 27) × 1.45 tons/yd³
Example: A 40 ft × 12 ft driveway at 4 in deep = 5.93 yd³ ≈ 8.6 tons of millings.
